Rock of Manila exposes an underground group of music lovers dedicated to share and spread their music discoveries of the counter culture of the late 60's and early 70's. When the city was limited to listening pop music on the air, another sound was spreading along the walls of party venues. A band of kids armed with imported lp's, (not guns) would take over party sound systems and change the music.....the rest is BPM.

Not until Juan Dela Cruz was formed during the Marcos era did Filipino rock bands were influenced to write original music in Tagalog. "Ang Himig Natin", a JDC original, along with bandmates Wally Gonzalez and Mike Hanopol, became an anthem of a generation.
